Golf is not the game to play when the rain is coming down as if it's coming out of the nozzle of a fire hose. Thursday's golfers were lucky. Saturday's players stayed at home.

You might have noticed a bit of rain about Oberon over the last few days. Thursday's golfers were lucky and got home before the deluge, but players on Saturday weren't quite so lucky. And Katie Graham won the big prize.

The Eagle has landed!

The golf kept going in excellent weather (even if it might have been a bit hot). Almost a record number of players turned out on Saturday and even more on Sunday for the Open, but the real winner was Ian Fowler with an Eagle helping him to win A Grade.

A gala day of tennis

Oberon Tennis Club was full of excitement as it hosted a highly successful School Gala Day on Thursday, November 7. Over 100 students from four local schools (Oberon Public School, O'Connell Public School, St Joseph's Catholic School and Hampton Public School) gathered for a fun-filled day of tennis, learning and friendly competition.

Cricket comes back to O'Connell

Cricket returned to O'Connell on Sunday, November 3, for the annual Fish River Cup match between O'Connell and Tarana. The match was the first to be played at the new Recreation Ground on the corner of Beaconsfield and O'Connell Roads.

Too much sport really is almost enough

As if building a new Sports Complex and playing a cricket match at the new oval in O'Connell weren't enough, sport broke out all over the place. There was golf of course, a big announcement from the Tigers and a Pony Club gymkhana.

Burraga Redfin Roundup

October 26 and 27 saw 106 fisherpersons descend on the Burraga Dam for the inaugural Redfin Roundup to remove as many of these pasts from the dam as possible.

A great big congratulation to Max Meridith who came fourth in the Professional Youth Roughstock Association World Finals in Ada, Oklahoma.

Media Release - Squash courts facelift completed

Squash players will now be playing on flash new courts at Oberon RSL as renovations are completed. The upgrades included some new flooring, painting and roof restorations.

It's Grand Final weekend

With several teams into the Grand Finals, it was a busy weekend for anyone following Oberon's various teams. The She Wolves continued their unbroken lossless run to take home the gold, the Under 15s hockey players came second and the senior men's hockey team  also missed out on gold. And there was golf too.

Hockey, golf, and ponies. Ponies! With the seasons ending for many sports, the big news is that the Mens and the Under 15s hockey teams are through to the Grand Finals, joining the 3rd Grade Women soccer players. The weekend of September 21 and 22 will see a lot of nails bitten.

The picture says it all about the Oberon Tigers Under 12s in the Group 10 Junior League Championship Grand Final, and the Grade 3 women soccer players are on their way to the Grand Final. And there's some golf results too.
