The Under 12s are the new Group 10 Premiers for 2024, overcoming the Blayney Bears by 24 to 18 in the Grand Final at Carrington Park, Bathurst, on Saturday, September 7

Oberon United Football Club

The 3rd Grade Women continued on their winning way by coming out 3-1 victors over Macquarie United at Proctor Park, Bathurst, on Sunday, September 8. Goals were scored by Paige Corby and Bethany Wilkinson (2). The team has been undefeated through the entire season (all wins except one draw) and are looking good for the Grand Final on September 22. Oberon Matters will be there cheering them on, and so should everyone else in town.

Oberon Golf Club

First round scores for the Trifecta Cup are in.

Darren Gordon leads A-Grade and Sandie Higgins leads B-Grade.

Next week's second round will be Par followed by the final round the week after (21st September) which will be Stableford.

The Quarter Finals of the Singles Matchplay presented by Reckless BX Lager are set with 8 players remaining. Next round matches to be played by the end of Sunday 22nd September.

Like his beloved Swannies, Darren Gordon came home strong with a birdie on 10 and then - if you don't mind - an Eagle on the 13th for a 2 under par 68 to win the A-Grade September Medal by a shot from Barry Lang.

Darren also takes the lead in the Trifecta Cup with 2 rounds to play over the next two weeks - Par and then Stableford.

In B-Grade, the ladies showed the gentlemen the way with Sandie Higgins 2 under 68 a shot better than Mel Taylor's 69.

  • 17th: R. McGrath - 850

Highlights - Apart from Darren's Eagle on 13th after the birdie on the 10th, Barry Lang birdied 8 and 16 and Rob McGrath had back-to-back birdies on 16 and 17. There were a total of only 9 birdies from the 38 players on holes 1, 3 (2), 8, 10, 13, 16 (2) and 17.

Thursday golf results

Winner with 31 points was Jason Bartlett. Paul Behan got the nod for runner up on a count back.

Balls went to Hugh O'Neil, Hamish Gidley-Barin, Tim Arnison, Sean Mooney, Mark Ryan, Peter Ryan, Mitch Hollihan, Graham Whittaker, Tom Baldwin and Josh Glazbrook. Nearest to the pin on the 9th was won by Robert Webb

Good luck to Cattleya Maloney who has qualified for the 12 yr 100m dash at the State Athletics Carnival at Sydney Olympic Park. Remember to stay focused, give your best effort and have fun.
