If they were horses, they would win at a canter

Oberon United Football Club

The big news of the week is that the 3rd Grade Women finished the season undefeated, winning every match except for one draw.

Goals by Bethany Wilkinson, Paige Corby, Shae McKinnon and Ebony Howard sealed the Minor Premiership. The team will now play the first elimination semifinal on September 8 and hopefully progress to the Grand Final on September 22. Oberon Matters will be there cheering them on.

Some of the winning action

Things didn't go so well for the Under 13s, who went down zero to five to Scots All Saints in their final match for the season. Despite this disappointment, several of the players told Oberon Matters that they will be back in 2025.

Having fun playing. That's what it's all about.

Under 11s Gala Day Wrap Up

Last Sunday , Oberon Junior League had the pleasure of hosting a gala day for Under 11s to finish their footy season for 2024.

The weather was atrocious but the footy was top shelf . Six teams joined us for the day and played hard under trying conditions. It was great to witness how talented the kids are and the sportsmanship shown throughout the day.

Our final game for the day between Blayney and Panthers had some incredible tries, unreal defence and had the crowd cheering. Well done to all teams. You have all done your clubs proud.

Thank you to all the coaches, parents and players for coming along. We appreciate your support.

Miserable weather but a great game. Photo supplied
