A couple of people looking for help
August 7 2025 in Community

One of the nice things about living in a small country town is the generosity and friendliness of the neighbours. Here are two totally different appeals for help that are worth supporting.

Greater Bank is giving away $3,000 every month and Oberon Men's Shed is looking for votes to help them win it. The Shed does great work and the money will help them do even better by giving them the funds to support the Shed's activities. Register your vote here.

Lincoln Briffa is running a GoFundMe appeal to raise funds to help with his work promoting mental health around Oberon and to get a car. As well as running around with these activities, he has a son who requires a lot of medical attention. Lincoln's car has decided to retire itself and he needs a car for all the hospital trips. Every little bit helps, so go here and make a donation.

The evening of Saturday, July 26, was cold, windy, rainy and sleety and the roads were infested with wombats the size of small cars hiding around corners and just over crests, but that didn't stop a crowd assembling at the Burraga Sports & Recreation Club for Christmas in July.
