A fitting memorialSeptember 18, 2025 The township of Burraga got together on Saturday, September 13, to remember Bill Klower. Bill was responsible for bringing town water to the village and also for the establishment of the Burraga Sports and Recreation Club. The event was an unveiling of a memorial plaque.
Oberon Mayor Andrew McKibbin gave a short speech which was followed by some reminiscences of his father by Adam Klower.
The plaque itself will eventually be attached to a lump of slag from the copper works, as soon as someone can find a hard enough drill bit. Bill will then join his old mate Mick Clough.
As well as the plaque, Bill been honoured by renaming the little tourist information pavilion to the Bill Klower Rotunda. The sign was made by the Oberon Men's Shed.
There will be a memorial day for Bill at the Club on September 27 starting at midday and everyone is invited to come along to remember Bill and share their stories.
