Oberon Tigers Senior League

Hard one to swallow for our men’s team but our ladies are getting closer to a win. Thanks Trundle Boomers Rugby League Club for travelling out and good luck with the rest of the season.

As usual, Andrew and Renee Howard from Howard’s Auto and Electrical sponsored "Player of the Week" awards for various age groups. Here are this week's winners

In the Under 12s, the Tigers maintained their winning streak by downing St Pats 30-6 and the Under 10s rolled over the
Panthers 36-6.

Oberon Junior Hockey Association

So proud of Fiona and Maddy who were members of the Western Region hockey team who finished 3rd at the NSW PSSA State Hockey championships in Newcastle. We are looking forward to seeing the medal at school and at training congratulations girls this is a fantastic achievement

Oberon Golf Club

A very chilly welcome to Winter ... or as the Scots say ... Summer.

Ian Fowler was the player of the day winning the A-Grade medal by 3 shots with 71 (+1) nett and Barry Lang runner up with 74 (+4) nett.

Mat Foran secured the B-Grade medal and his spot in the Medal of Medals competition next February with 72 (+2) nett to win by one from Scott Levick.

Scratch winners were - Hamish Anderson in A-Grade with 75 and Scott Levick in B-Grade with 88 on a count back.

Balls were awarded to - D. King, B. Higgins, E. Whalan, D, Roots, H. Anderson, L. Murphy, A. Ribbons and K. Rawlings.

Some highlights were - Hamish birdied 5, 12 & 15 and Scratch birdied 8 & 11.

  • 1st: Chook 143
  • 7th: Dazza Gazza 384
  • 9th: The King 83
  • 17th: Larry Bang 126

On Thursday,  May 30, the winner was Tim Arnison with 29 points. Runner up, on a three way count back went to Eric Whalan. Nearest to the pin on the 17th was won by Chris Boardman.
