Oberon High School Never the Last Post project I was lucky enough to escort Bella Kelly, Sam Bajada, Rhys Braun and Monorith Yee down to the Belgium Embassy to present their Never the Last Post project. This was run in conjunction with the Last Post Association in Ypres. Our students discovered four Oberon men that enlisted in World War One and fought on the Western Front, Donald Campbell, Alexander Edgar, Albert Harvey, and James Stevenson, unfortunately all of the men lost their lives in battle. The students got to meet members of the Royal Australian Airforce Cadets and other dignitaries associated with the Australian War Memorial. His Excellency, Michel Goffin, the Ambassador of Belgium to Australia, hosted the event in his residence. It was an amazing experience. Fiona Abbott - Principal Rlg

The Ozy Youth choir, who are an online Choir from across Australia, meet regularly online and come together in person for special performances honouring defence service personnel. They are nationally recognised for commemoration and youth leadership through the arts. Chloe Swannell - Music Coordinator

Celebration of Cultures day! Last Wednesday, we celebrated the cultural diversity within our school community. To start our celebrations, students were involved in a flag parade followed by performances before moving into the quad for games and a taste of delicious foods made by our students' families. Thank you to our families for taking the time to share your culture. Tim Graham - Coordinator
Principal's Network Day Last Friday, we hosted the final Bathurst Principals' Network Day. It was a great way to showcase our school to other Principals. Regan Shaw delivered the Acknowledgement of Country to start the day. A huge thank you to Veronica Kelly, our canteen supervisor, for the amazing morning tea and lunch, to Louise Kitt for the wonderful Christmas decorations, and to Cath McIntosh and Kylee McGrath for their assistance with the running of the day. The visiting Principals enjoyed their day. Fiona Abbott - Principal Rlg
Black Springs Public School Responsible Pet Ownership Our school participated in The Living Safely with Pets program on Tuesday last week. The program targets students in Grades K to 2. Our youngest students were taught about what it means to be a responsible pet owner and how to live safely with dogs. The Pet educator and their suitability-tested dog visited our school to present the program. The presentation was delivered using multimedia tools, role play, song and story-telling. We were given complimentary educational resources and teaching tool packages. Australia has one of the highest rates of pet ownership in the world. Most dog attacks involve children in the 0-8 age range and a high number of these attacks also occur in the home environment where children are bitten by their own dog or one known to them. Educating children and their families ensures the child-pet relationship is not only physically and emotionally rewarding, but also safe. Black Springs Public School staff.
