St Joseph's Catholic School Dubbo Primary Diocesan Athletics Congratulations to our team of athletes who competed on Friday in Dubbo. We are proud to share the exciting news that Myah and Kataya will now compete in the Polding competition in Newcastle in the 100m race. Many thanks to the parents who supported our team on the day and particularly Mrs Beale and Miss Booth who were the Bathurst Diocese team managers.
Community Services Expo 2024 St Joseph's Catholic School were proud to showcase our wonderful school at the recent 2024 Community Services Expo along with many community organisations. Our School Captains and Vice Captains were in attendance and were grateful to accept a generous cheque from the Oberon Council.
Oberon Public School Reading is Magic We celebrated our annual book-week parade with our families. Our school was overflowing with amazing characters and costumes. Students enjoyed participating in our parade and showcasing their creations. Thank you to our families for coming along and arranging such creative outfits. Bathurst Eisteddfod Our school choir and 2-5W competed at the Bathurst Eisteddfod. All students performed beautifully, with 2-5W bringing back a medal. Australian Authors Book Week is happening this term and we have been looking at the short-listed books during our lessons. All of these books are written by and illustrated by Australians. We have been completing activities associated with each book. Belynda Ruhan l Teacher Libarian
Creative Caterpillars Kindergarten have been investigating the text, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". They have been learning to order and sequence events whilst learning the days of the week. They have created their own reconstruction of the story using LEGO and made caterpillars. Kindergarten Teachers
Awesome Athletes A team of 16 students attended the 1500m and High Jump district event in Bathurst. The students all displayed amazing sportsmanship and determination. Congratulations to Aiden Odobasic who finished 3rd in the junior boys 1500m, Maisy Christie-Johnston who finished 1st in the 11yrs girls 1500m, Lexi Booth who finished 3rd in the junior girls high jump, Brax Booth who finished 1st in the junior boys high jump and Patience Kerr who finished 3rd in senior girls high jump. Thank You School Support Staff This week we celebrate School Support Recognition Week, which is a celebration of school administrative and support staff (SASS) and other non-teaching staff, and the invaluable role they play in keeping our schools running smoothly. SAS staff are the backbone of the schools, they make everything work and they often go about it in a quiet way without massive recognition. Without them, our school would not function as well as it does. Spectacular Sportspeople On Friday August 23 over 40 students from Oberon Public School attended the Bathurst District Athletics Carnival. All the students displayed great sportsmanship, determination, and perseverance. Our athletes had a very successful day, with many making it to the finals or achieving personal bests in their events. Congratulations to the following students for being selected to represent the Bathurst District team and will compete in the Western Region carnival later this term in Dubbo:
