JUNIOR PRESENTATION

What an amazing turn out for our junior presentation last night! It was incredible to see a majority of our teams, coaches and parents celebrating all our achievements throughout this year! Thank you to our children for their dedication to their season of soccer. Thank you to our parents for all the running around they had to do over to season to get their children to training and games. Big thank you to all our wonderful sponsors over the year and an even bigger thank you to Silver Bells Events for her time and effort put into setting up the decorations for our junior presentation! We wish everyone has a fantastic off season and hope to see everyone again next year for a bigger and better season in 2027!

Our junior pennants team traveled to Duntryleague in Orange for the Semi Final of the Encourage Shield against a combined Lachlan Valley team.

The boys all performed exceptionally well winning the match 4 - 2.

Mason Christie Johnston lost on the last.
Charlie Brown lost on the last
And Captain Nate Hotham won 2 up.

Next stop Bathurst on Wednesday to play the formidable team from Forbes in the regional final.

It was a lovely day fot the netball club's presentations at the Sports Complex, so Oberon Matters had a wander around pointing the camera at things.

2026! What a year

Thanks to everyone who came and celebrated our 2026 season Congratulations to all the award recipients, everyone can be incredibly proud of a very successful season. I hope all our players and coaching staff wear their new training shorts proudly.

Our major awards recipients for 2026 are:

Highest representative players: Grace Yeo and Caley McKellar
Clubperson of the Year : Danni-Lee Thompson
OJHA Committee award: Maggie Austen
OJHA Up and coming umpire: Poppy Radstone
OJHA All Rounder: Ella Thompson and Medina Muratovic
Aging out award : 12 years of junior hockey for Oberon: Ella Thompson

We also acknowledged the 34 Oberon players who had been selected and represented Bathurst District at various carnivals. Our indoor players received certificates of recognition and we acknowledged our dedicated umpires.

We celebrated and thanked our hardworking and dedicated committee and coaching staff. Our lucky door prizes of OHJA merch were also very popular.

OBERON SENIOR TIGERS 2026 PRESENTATION

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate our 2026 season at the Oberon Senior Tigers Presentation.

It was a fantastic way to wrap up another memorable year and recognise the players, coaches, volunteers, supporters and everyone who has been part of the Tigers family throughout the season.

Cricket

Saturday, September 26, was a very nice day for some cricket matches between Tarana and Lyndhurst.

Here's a mystery. Tarana and O'Connell can field full cricket teams (with reserves). Lynhurst is a town about the size of Black Springs and they manage to find enough players for a team. Oberon has a population more than twice the combined totals of Tarana, O'Connell and Lyndhurst but when we had a team we really didn't - it was a couple of Oberon residents playing with a Bathurst side. Weird!
