Legitimate search engines are blocked from indexing any images on this site but it is almost impossible to prevent web site content from being scavenged by AI robots and the only alternative is to not publish photos, so over the next few weeks I will be going through all the sports and school reports on the site and removing any photos in which kids can be identified. (This tiny and obscure site is continually trawled by AI bots, although all except ChatGPT try to remain anonymous. The papers published by Nine Entertainment are currently being hit 30,000,000 times a month by AI content thieves. It is work for several people just to try to keep up with the blocking.) It's a tragedy of our times that anything can be abused by perverts. The latest is that AI systems are being used to exploit photos of children by removing clothing or putting other heads on bodies. The world's largest pornography site, PornHub, recently banned one of their advertisers who was paying a million dollars a year to advertise AI-generated child porn. That company is Australian. Elon Musk is threatening to sue a US state because it has banned Musk's Grok AI for the ease with which it can be used to produce images of naked children. Musk claims this is an infringement of free speech, a statement that renders sane people speechless.Oberon Golf Club
In the next instalment of "our people", meet Chris, our Greenkeeper, who has been with Oberon Golf Club for the past 18 months.
During that time, Chris highlighted his focus has been on implementing industry best practices across the course, with an emphasis on continually improving playing surfaces, presentation and overall course quality.
Having played golf interstate and extensively across NSW, Chris knows just how fortunate we are to have the course and facilities we do here in Oberon. His focus is on helping the club continue to move forward, with the long-term vision of Oberon becoming known as a destination golf course, rather than simply a country course.
Chris is grateful for the support of the Board in embracing positive change and backing improvements that are in the best interests of the facility.
He has also played an influential role in the recent renovation and redesign of the 16th green, with future renovation plans already in the pipeline for the 12th and 6th.

Oberon United Football Club
Another big weekend for the Oberon United Football Club Wolves.
Our Under 13s had another double header to finish off their season. Unfortunately, they went down in both games, but what a season it has been. A huge effort from the team all year they have improved so much - well done, 13s.
Our Men finished off their round games with a fantastic 7–2 win. What a way to head into the semi-finals. Bring on finals football.
Our Women had a tough battle against Lithgow, finishing with a 3–3 draw. A hard-fought game from the girls who never gave up.
Congratulations to all our teams on another great weekend of football. Now it’s time to get behind our Men as they head into the semi-finals!

Our First Grade side have cemented their place in the 2026 Woodbridge Cup Grand Final for the second consecutive year They’ve done it again, all the 1% efforts and dedication the individuals who make up this team have put in has paid off. We can’t wait to see this side compete in yet another GF! Congratulations.
