Game Day results

A quieter weekend for some, but plenty of effort shown across the club.

Our Under 13s enjoyed a well-earned bye this week and will be keen to get back on the field next round.

The Women's team faced a strong opponent and, despite a determined performance and plenty of hard work throughout the match, went down 2-0 in a tough contest. The girls never gave up and should be proud of their effort.

The Men's team also battled hard but unfortunately fell just short, going down 3-2 in an exciting game. There were plenty of positives to take away, with the team showing great determination right until the final whistle. While the results didn't go our way this weekend, the commitment, sportsmanship and effort shown by all our players continues to make our club proud.

Thank you to all our players, coaches, volunteers, supporters and sponsors for your ongoing support. We look forward to seeing everyone back on the sidelines next weekend.

ROUND 6 2026 Weekly Wrap Up

Under 6 Black vs Tigers Gold
The local derby between Under 6s Black and Under 6s Gold lived up to expectations, with both teams putting in a fantastic effort. Great tries were scored on both sides, while some outstanding tagging made every metre hard-earned in a tough and competitive game.

Despite being fierce rivals on the field, the match was played in great spirit, showcasing the skills and determination of all the players. Congratulations to Melody, who was named Player of the Week for an excellent performance.

Under 6 Gold vs Tigers Black
Oberon under 6 gold traveled down to a cold chilly lithgow on Saturday, for the local derby between Oberon under 6 black.

The Oberon black side came ready to play and didn't take a backwards step all game, you can tell they are a really well coached side and you can see why Blake Miller is red hot favourite to takeout the group 10 coach of the year award at the end of the season, but as good as the Oberon black were, our might gold team had an answer for everything that was thrown at them, our usual rock solid defence was on display again, lead by Ryan, Bill and ivy, who did some freakish solo tags between them and were ripping tags off anything that moved and without their amazing efforts a lot more tries would have been run in. Ashton and Huxley had the opposition defence in two minds with their blistering speed and crafty footwork, between them they made some good meters and scored some top notch tries, but player of the week this week, goes to one of the smallest and youngest players we have and that is Rose, she had her hand in everything on the weekend, from try saving tags to barnstorming runs that lead to tries, keep an eye on this young lady, I think we'll be seeing her playing in the NRLW in years to come. Great all round effort by the under 6 gold, we'll do it all again next week, up the tigers.

Under 7s Tigers vs Lithgow Lightning
Round 6 was a special one for the Oberon Tigers Under 7s, with the team making the trip to Lithgow to take on Lithgow Storm - ditching the tags for their very first game of Tackle Rugby league. The excitement was high and the Tigers certainly rose to the occasion, showing plenty of courage, determination and teamwork throughout the match.

Jaxon was outstanding with his tireless defensive efforts, making numerous tackles and also producing some terrific offloads to keep the team moving forward. Ace, Jenson and Leo all impressed with their strong tackling technique and powerful runs with the ball in hand, while James and Archie carved up the field with several big carries and were more than happy to get involved in defence as well.

Bodhi looked like he had spiders on him every time he touched the football, proving incredibly difficult to bring down and crossing for some fantastic tries. Zeke also had a great game, scoring some excellent tries and continuing to improve every week.

One of the biggest highlights of the day belonged to Dolcie, who scored not one, but two tries in her very first game of tackle. It was a tremendous effort and a moment she won’t forget anytime soon, earning her a very well-deserved Player of the Week award.

The coaches, parents and supporters should all be incredibly proud of the way the Tigers handled their first tackle match. It was a fantastic team performance and another great step forward in what is shaping up to be a wonderful season. Well done Tigers!

Under 8s  - Tigers vs Lithgow Lightning
Oberon Tigers Under 8s Match Report - Saturday 13th June
On a beautiful sunny day in Lithgow, the Oberon Tigers Under 8s took on Lithgow Under 8s in a fantastic game of junior footy. The team showed some amazing tackling and strong defence throughout the match.

The Tigers worked brilliantly together, displaying great teamwork and determination from start to finish. Our mini Tigers crossed for plenty of tries, with everyone contributing to an exciting performance.

The Moorhead Engineering and Elders Emms Mooney Player of the Match was awarded to Mason for his fantastic plays and outstanding effort throughout the game. Congratulations, Mason!

Well done to all the players on another great team performance.

Under 9s Tigers vs St Pats Blue
Our Under 9s headed off to Lithgow to take on St Pats Blue this week and what a day for the kids it was.

Once again from the first whistle they dominated the entire match. From excellent defence to full field try’s the tigers were just on. The last couple weeks at training we have been working on our offloads and today those offloads led to 5 run away tries which was very pleasing.

As always a big thanks to the 4 Under 8 boys who played up and help us out every week. Your improvement is very noticeable every week with Lane and Harry scoring great tries today.

Player of the week this went to Force. Mason Fawcett 1 on 1 defence was a stand out and his tough carries really got us going in the right direction all game.

Under 12s Tigers vs Mudgee Dragon White
Round 6 Under 12s travelled to Lithgow to take on Mudgee Dragons.

With a fierce rivalry beginning to develop between these sides over the past few season's it was sure to be a good game of football.

And that's exactly what we had, from the kick off both sides showed they were there to play, with fast line speed and strong defence from both sides we knew we were in for a game.

Neither side was willing to give an inch, but with some strong runs up front and some crafty shifts with the ball points started to flow.

Half time and the scores were close, the kid's were pumped and wanted to get back out there. Second half was just as good great talk across the field and everyone put in effort, by far the game of the season with a consistent 40 minutes.

Next week we are off to Orange to take on Bloomfield which is sure to be another tough game.

Under 14s Tigers vs Lithgow Storm
The Oberon Tigers U14s took on Lithgow Storm on Saturday and came away with an impressive 42 -14 victory in a tough and physical contest.

From the opening whistle, it was clear this wasn't going to be an easy afternoon. The Storm brought plenty of intensity, forcing the Tigers to roll up their sleeves and earn every metre. The boys understood that before they could play their exciting brand of football, they first had to win the ruck and lay the platform through the middle of the field.

Led by a determined forward pack, the Tigers dominated the physical battle, continually driving forward and setting the tone with strong carries and tough defence. Their hard work through the middle created opportunities for the outside backs, who were able to showcase their speed, skill and attacking flair.

Once the platform was established, the Tigers' attacking game came to life, with the backs combining brilliantly to produce some flashy football and exciting tries. The team's willingness to work for one another and stick to the game plan was a standout throughout the match.

The 42 -14 scoreline was a reflection of the effort put in across the park, with every player contributing to a strong team performance. While the attack caught the eye, it was the commitment, toughness and determination shown through the middle that ultimately paved the way for the victory.

The boys continue to build nicely as the season progresses and will take plenty of confidence from another strong performance as they look ahead to their next challenge.
