ROUND 3 2026 Weekly Wrap Up
Under 6 Black vs St Pats Blue
The Mighty U6s Black travelled
to Wallerawang to take on St Pat's Blue, and the young Tigers were
strong in both attack and defence from start to finish. The team
showed great determination all game, with some fantastic runs and
even better defence keeping the pressure on their opponents. Every
player gave their all and worked hard for each other, making it
another great team performance. Our Player of the Week was Charlie
Bailey for an outstanding effort and a terrific all-round game. Well
done Charlie and well done Tigers!
Under 6 Gold vs St Pats White
The mighty under 6 gold headed
down to Wang on Saturday for their round 3 game against bathurst st
pats. The young tigers are getting better every week and it really
showed on the weekend, with plenty of brilliant one on one brick
wall defence from Ryan, ivy and rose, that stopped st pats from
scoring any tries, along with some amazing solo runs from Billy and
Ashton that had the pats defence second guessing themselves, special
mention has to go out to Huxley, our player of the week, who had
he's hand in everything, and didn't take a backwards step all game,
coming up with great solo tags and plenty of great runs that lead to
trys. Up the tigers.
Under 7s Tigers vs Lithgow Storm
Great to see the Under 7s
back on the field for Round 3, taking on Lithgow Storm at
Wallerawang in another enthusiastic and high-energy contest. The
young Tigers came out firing, showing great intent early and
continuing to build strong momentum as the season gets underway.
There were plenty of exciting moments, with strong tagging and some
impressive runs keeping the pressure firmly run. Dolcie continued
her excellent form, playing with great determination, while Jenson,
Leo and Zeke all had strong games, stepping up with great effort,
involvement and improving teamwork right across the field. James and
Jaxon were again a standout across both attack and defence, working
hard all game and making a real impact, while the overall team
performance showed just how well the group is developing and working
together. Overall, it was another fantastic team effort and a great
step forward early in the season. A special mention goes to Archie,
who capped things off with a well-deserved Player of the Week
performance after an outstanding game full of energy and
involvement.
Under 8s - Match Summary
Saturday 16th May saw a beautiful
sunny day at Wallerawang as the Oberon Tigers took on Lithgow Storm.
The team put in another fantastic performance with strong runs, even
stronger tackles, great teamwork and excellent defence throughout
the game. All the boys played exceptionally well and continue to
improve every single week, showing great determination and teamwork
on the field. Congratulations to our Moorhead Engineering and Elders
Emms Mooney Player of the Match, Ernie, for his enthusiasm, great
play-the-balls and putting himself in to make strong tackles. Well
done Ernie and all the boys on a great game.
Under 9s Tigers vs Lithgow Storm
Round 3 saw our Under 9s make
the trip to Wang to take on a very strong Lithgow Storm side. It was
another physical contest this week, but our boys showed plenty of
toughness and stayed in the fight for the full 40 minutes. Hard
running from Mason Rigelsford and Mason Costa helped get us up the
field all day, with Mason Rigelsford finishing off a lovely try in
the corner. After working hard on our marker play at training during
the week, it was great to see the team putting it into action, with
everyone chasing hard and applying pressure to Lithgow. A special
thanks again to Mason Costa, Harry Bailey, Heath Bartkowiak and Lane
Gilmore for playing up and helping us out with numbers. Lane also
scored a terrific try out of dummy half. This week's Player of the
Match went to Mason Costa. As always, Mason ran hard and tackled
even harder. Well done mate!
Under 12s Tigers vs Cowra Magpies
Under 12s round 3 clash seen
the young tiges make the long trip over to Cowra. With some warmer
weather than they were used to it didn't take long for the drink
bottles to start rattling, despite the hot conditions and only
having one sub for the game they all shared the work load. There was
some great runs and once again some very heavy defence, special
shout out to our dummy half Moo for tackling anything and everything
that came her way, was good to have you back on the paddock They
didn't really look in any danger throughout the game controlling
attack and defence from the 1st whistle. This weekend we take on the
panthers at home and after a touch up in the knockout they will be
looking to square that off Look forward to seeing you all there YTT.
Under 14s Tigers vs Cowra Magpies
Round 3 saw the Oberon
Tigers U14s hit the road to take on a tough Cowra outfit, and from
the opening whistle the boys looked switched on. Oberon struck first
to get points on the board early, before the next 10 minutes turned
into an absolute defensive battle. The contact through the middle
was brutal — the kind you could hear from the sideline — and the
Tigers stood tall, refusing to take a backward step. As the game
wore on, Oberon began to take control through the middle, rolling
forward with aggression and intent. The platform was laid by the
powerhouse efforts of Marshall Taylor, Bobby Stanley, Maika Toga and
Cooper Western, whose tough carries and relentless defence helped
swing momentum heavily in Oberon's favour. Once the boys found their
rhythm, the attack started to click into gear with strong support
play, quick ball movement and plenty of energy across the park.
Cowra continued to fight hard, but the Tigers' intensity proved too
much as they piled on the points in an impressive team performance.
The boys eventually came away with a hard fought and well-earned
44-10 victory, showing once again the grit, toughness and teamwork
that is quickly becoming the trademark of this Oberon Tigers U14s
side
