Oberon United Football Club

Great start to the season for our local soccer clubs as they hosted their first home games of the year.

The women's team set the tone with a strong 3-0 victory, showing control and confidence from the opening whistle. Not to be outdone, the men's team matched that result with an impressive 3-0 win of their own, delivering a well-rounded performance in front of the home crowd.

The Under 13s put in a solid effort but fell short on the day. Despite the result, there were plenty of positives to take from their performance.

Overall, a successful opening round at home, with strong support from the sidelines and plenty of momentum to build on in the weeks ahead.

On Sunday the club played host to the first Oberon Jnr Open. The younger less experienced kids took part in a fun 9 hole event and the more experienced in the field played an 18 hole Stroke event.

In what proved to be tough conditions local Charlie Brown hung on for the win from Bathurst Golf Club's Austin Woodyatt. The nett section was dominated by the boys from Bathurst GC with Ryder Saul our Nett winner and Oliver Hamer the runner up.

Thanks to our volunteers and sponsors, Mawhood’s IGA, Oberon Farm Meats and Lithgow Auto Glass for making the day possible.
