Some bad news

The Australian Motor Sport Action Group (AMSAG) have announced that this year's November 8 Oberon Rally based on Black Springs won't be going ahead. There have been some problems with the roads they wanted to use and cancelling Oberon freed up a date to run another rally that had been cancelled earlier in the year because of weather and road conditions.

AMSAG rallies almost always attract full fields of entries and can be relied on to bring about 400 visitors to town when you count car crews, support crews, officials and spectators. It is doubtful that any other sporting event in Oberon can be bring in this many people, so it's not just a disappointment for motor sport fans but for local businesses as well.
