Round 6 Wrap Up

U6
Our under 6s had another successful game on the road against Lithgow Storm in Lithgow. The team got off to a strong start with Ace Hawken scoring in the first set, with some strong runs from Ivy Bartkowiak and Quaden Miller, some great footwork shown from Ash Rigelsford and some fantastic long range runs from Leo Hinds and Jenson Corby. Congratulations to all the players on a great game, and to our Howards Auto player of the match, Quaden!

U7s
Under 7's Round 6 Oberon Tigers vs Eglinton Eels Gold Under 7's were on the road again having to play at Lithgow. Our little Tigers were super excited and so was their coach for the first round of tackle, and boy were they ready. I could tell all those weeks of hitting the tackle bags at training had paid off, our defence was exceptional with some big shots put on. Our attack was great as usual and very seldomly had to play the ball with nearly a try a run. All in all another well rounded performance. This week's player of the match thanks to Howards Auto and Electrical went to Archer Sutton.

Oberon Tigers U9s vs Bathurst Panthers Pink - Match Report Today the Under 9s travelled to Lithgow for a top-of-the-table showdown against the Bathurst Panthers Pink. As expected, the match was fast-paced and physical right from the kickoff, with both teams showcasing quality footy from start to finish. Despite being short on numbers and having just one sub on the bench, the Tigers dug deep and gave it their all. The team effort and resilience were outstanding coming away with a 14-12 victory. It was fantastic to welcome back Cooper Elwin after a couple of weeks off - great to have you back with your teammates, mate! A big Happy 8th Birthday to Ruby, who celebrates her special day this weekend - we hope it's a great one! Howard's Auto and Electrical Player of the Match went to Cooper Sutton, who had an incredible game, scoring a massive 10 tries and making countless tackles. He was everywhere! Finally, a heartfelt moment today as all our players wore black armbands in memory of Lynne Elwin. A special tribute from the team - she was clearly in everyone's thoughts.

U11s
Oberon Vs Orange Bloomfield Tigers The under 11s finally found their mojo and came away with a 40-22 win. All the kids came out with a lot of heart and great defence moving up quick off the line which made the attack much easier. With almost everyone getting points on the board it was a great game to watch. The second half however seen Bloomfield come out strong making us work hard. Player of the week going to Jack Bailey, who couldn't play this week after ending up need stitches from an injury from the night before, but he showed up and ran the kicking tee and cheered the team on from the side line.

U13s
The Oberon Tigers Under 13s put on a powerful display over the weekend as they took on Bathurst St Pats in what turned out to be one of the most physical contests of the season so far. From the opening whistle, it was clear this was going to be a hard-fought battle, with both teams bringing intensity and aggression to the field. You could hear the hits from the sidelines, as neither side was willing to give an inch in the opening exchanges.

Despite the physicality, the Tigers played with exceptional control and teamwork. Their ability to string together passes and maintain structure under pressure was a key factor in their 40-8 victory. The boys showed confidence in attack, finding gaps in the St Pats defence and capitalising on their chances with clinical finishing. Every try was the result of effort and support play, with the whole team contributing to the scoreboard through determined running and smart decisions.

But it wasn't just in attack where the Tigers impressed. One of the most defining moments of the match came midway through the game, when Oberon was forced to defend their own line for a gruelling eight consecutive sets. It was a true test of their resolve, and the boys stood tall - repelling wave after wave of pressure with discipline and heart. In the end, they only conceded points from a well-executed kick late in the set, a testament to their outstanding defensive organisation.

This game was a clear demonstration of the Tigers' growing maturity and unity as a team. Their communication, effort in the ruck, and support play were all top-notch, and their resilience in tough moments stood out. The coaching staff and supporters on the sideline were all impressed not just by the final scoreline, but by the attitude and determination shown across the park.

With this result, the Oberon Tigers U13s continue to build momentum and confidence. If they keep playing with this level of toughness, skill, and teamwork, they're shaping up to be a serious force in the competition this season.

U14s League Tag
Round 6 saw our U14s League Tag girls take the field in Lithgow for Lithgow's home game. What started as a beautiful day quickly turned icy, with the sudden cold and rain hitting just before kick-off but the girls were ready to go.

We started strong, capitalising on some early dropped balls from the opposition and putting points on the board quickly. But as the second half wore on, the cold really set in, making it tough to get those tags and keep the ball moving. Despite a hard-fought effort, we went down 46-16.

Shoutout to Shania who kicked things off with our first try and Cattleya was on fire with a hat trick! Shelly, who never gave up and nearly scored in the final seconds but cold hands just got the better of her.

The improvement each week is undeniable. The girls continue to show resilience, skill and a growing confidence on the field. Keep it up, team
