Oberon Golf Club

A few months ago after her first win since obtaining a golf handicap, Mel Taylor lost 10 shots. On Saturday she tackled the tough Winter conditions with a new handicap and secured her second win with the round of the day. Her 36 points in B-Grade was one shot better than Arron Cooper-Durant's 35 points with Scott Levick in 3rd with 34 points on a count back.

In A-Grade, Daryl Kelly's 35 points was good enough to keep Ian Fowler in 2nd on 34 points with Terry Robinson completing the podium with 33 points (on a count back).

Highlights from the field of 41 players (well above normal Winter numbers) were - Wayne Seller's eagle at 5 to go with his birdies on 3 and 7 and birdies to Bill Higgins on 7 and 9.

Oberon United Football Club

Snow was predicted for Saturday, June 22, which would have made for an interesting soccer match but it held off (a couple of light falls in the high country the day before). It was still a bit cold to be running around in shorts, but who notices that when they are having a good time?

The Under 13s faced Churches United Soccer Football Club but came off second best by 2-5. Better luck against Eglinton next week.

One of the good things about soccer is that you can never be too short or too young to play.

Oberon Tigers Senior League

There was a welcome return to the winner's circle for both senior teams this weekend, with the League Tag Ladies coming out on top of Blayney Bears by 36-4 and the men turning in a convincing 40-28. The next matches will be against Cargo at Oberon on Sunday, June 30.

Oberon Tigers Junior League

Also, congratulations to our mighty Under 12s who came away with a 28-8 win against Cowra. There were plenty of footy skills on display in what was a tough game from start to finish. The 12s are having a brilliant season and remain undefeated!!
