Cold blustery conditions attracted 46 players and quite a few social golfers on April 21. After fine tuning his swing with Daryl, Blake Fitzpatrick strolled around the course carding 42 points and grabbing a 5 shot win in A-Grade over runner up Eric Whalen with 37 points. In B-Grade, Mel Taylor carried the enormous weight of a 51 handicap to also have a 5 shot win over Alex McLean-Nielsen who was runner up (on a C/B) with 35 points. Next week:
Public Service Announcement from the club Slow play is one of the most annoying aspects of our game. Recently we observed a player (we will disguise his name to save embarrassment) - Larry Bang - taking so long over a shot, the grass died! Be a good member of the golfing family. Follow these simple guidelines - be ready to play your shot, play 'ready' golf even if it is not your turn, putt out rather than marking your ball, keep searches for lost balls to 3 minutes, pick up if you can't score (except in stroke), leave your cart on the way to the next tee not in front of the green where you have to walk backwards to get it, move off the green ASAP after finishing the hole and mark your score on the next tee ... not by the green of the hole just played. Taking these simple steps will guarantee additional enjoyment for all and get you to the 19th hole faster!
Rodeo Congratulations to our Vice President Charlie Bailey on winning

Rugby League The younger players got to join a parade at the Panthers v Wests Tigers match at Carrington Park in Bathurst on Saturday, April 20. (It was Round 7 of the 2024 Telstra Premiership and Wests Tigers went down 22-4.)
The big boys and girls played against Orange Warriors at Orange. The ladies a were leading 12-0 at half time but Orange became inspired in the second half heading towards a 26-16 victory. The senior men's team had a late run of brilliance, taking the score from 28-22 in Orange's favour eight minutes before the final siren. Two tries in those closing minutes saw Oberon win 40-22. Oberon Tigers have a bye next weekend. Their next matches will be against Manildra at Manildra on Sunday, May 5.
