Oberon Tigers continue building the team

February 29, 2024

Announcements about players for the Oberon Seniors Woodbridge Cup teams keep coming. Four more were revealed this week.

The Woodbridge Cup competition starts on April 7, with the draw to be announced shortly.

Next up in the 2024 signings are a couple of real strike weapons in Johnny Aiaga and Manueli Lewaqai! Johnny returns to the Tigers after being part of the 2022 squad that made the Woodbridge Cup Grand Final and is known for his strong ball running and as an enforcer who can find his way regularly to the try line, while Manu has committed to his second year in a row with the club. A strong and speedy centre or back rower, Manu was one of our top try scorers in 2023 and adds real X factor to the team. Look out for both players to have a huge impact in the upcoming season!

Another two local boys who will be lining up in the black and gold alongside each other is young guns Jake Foley and Ty Simmonds. Jake is a young goal kicking half who not only possesses great vision, ball skills and a superb kicking game but also can lay claim to being the fittest player at the club, while Ty is a man mountain of a back rower, well known for his aggression with both his strong ball running and rock solid defence. Both young guys will be a massive part of not only this year, but for years to come and are two players the club will look to be built around both now and into the future.
