SCHOOL DISCO FUN! hat a fantastic time we had at our school disco! Our students hit the dance floor, showed off their best moves and enjoyed an evening full of music, laughter and fun! A huge thank you to everyone who helped organise the disco and for making it such a memorable event. We loved seeing so many happy faces and amazing dance moves!
Principal's Message Welcome to Term 4 Welcome back to Term 4. I hope all families enjoyed a restful break and are ready for a positive and productive final term of learning at Rockley Public School for 2026. Term 4 will bring some changes for our school. From next week, our timetable and the way our classes operate will look a little different. While some structures may change, student learning and wellbeing remain at the heart of everything we do. We will continue to provide a calm, supportive and engaging learning environment where every student is known, valued and cared for. We are looking forward to a busy and exciting term, with several wonderful opportunities ahead for our students. This includes our NAIDOC celebrations at CSU Bathurst and PCYC gymnastics sessions throughout the term. These experiences provide valuable opportunities for students to connect, learn, participate and build confidence beyond the classroom.
Warm regards, Our primary students have made a strong start back into their learning this week! In English, we have begun our new novel study, "The Callers" by Kiah Thomas, which follows a young boy named Quin who discovers that the objects summoned into his world are actually being stolen from another land and its people. Through this novel, students will explore important themes of fairness, responsibility and the impact our actions can have on others. We are looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds and the discussions it inspires in our classroom! In Maths, students are learning about different types of data, how to collect information and ways to represent their findings. This topic provides plenty of opportunities for students to engage in purposeful, hands-on learning as they collect, organise and interpret data from the world around them
Early Start Success We excitedly welcomed our newest learners for their first taste of big school. Whilst the children were having a great time playing, laughing and making new friends, parents enjoyed an information session about what to expect during the early days at school. Together they had morning tea and shared stories. We are sure there were lots of great stories to share about today’s experience. Nicola McMahon l Transition Coordinator
Get ready to Jump! We’re excited to announce that our school is starting Jump Rope for Heart! Starting this week, students will be having fun, skipping and learning new skills - all while raising funds for the Heart Foundation. It’s a wonderful way to keep our hearts healthy and support a great cause. Emma Graham | Assistant Principal
Western Athletics Late late term, Cody Roberts attended Western Athletics in Dubbo. He represented our school and Bathurst District proudly. Cody can be incredibly proud of this achievement. Well done, Cody! Danni-Lee Thompson | Relieving Principal
Sheep Skills Our Stage 5 Agriculture students recently took part in a hands-on lesson about lamb marking and drenching, led by Ms Wiggins. Students learned about important procedures such as tail docking, ear tagging, and castration in lamb marking, which help to keep young lambs healthy. They also learned how drenching is used to control internal parasites in sheep, including how to give the right dosage and why timing is important. It was a valuable experience that built both their practical skills and understanding of animal care. Thank you to Mr Graham for sharing his experience with the class. Tristan Goodwin | Principal
Cultural Celebration Our students proudly attended the NAIDOC March in Bathurst, followed by an inspiring day at the Wiradjuri Cultural Festival held at Charles Sturt University Bathurst. Today’s festival brought the community together for a special celebration of Wiradjuri culture and 50 years of NAIDOC Week. Students took part in traditional storytelling sessions, cultural workshops, and art activities that showcased the rich heritage and traditions of the Wiradjuri people. Through these experiences, they gained a deeper understanding of the significance of Wiradjuri customs, language, and connection to country. The following students were recognised for their achievements as part of the awards ceremony. Awards were presented to Elloura Nielsen (Cultural Leadership Award), Tahra Gibbons (Academic Achievement Award) and Carter Lane (Young Black and Deadly Award). Tim Graham | Coordinator
Metal Makers Our Stage 5 Technology Metal students are busy creating a variety of exciting end-of-year projects, including BBQs, fire pits and battery boxes. Through this hands-on work, students have developed important skills in metalworking techniques such as cutting, welding, shaping and assembling. They have also learned how to read technical drawings, use tools safely and problem-solve during the construction process. Mark Armstrong | TAS Head Teacher
