Legitimate search engines are blocked from indexing any images on this site but it is almost impossible to prevent web site content from being scavenged by AI robots and the only alternative is to not publish photos, so over the next few weeks I will be going through all the sports and school reports on the site and removing any photo in which kids can be identified. (This tiny and obscure site is continually trawled by AI bots, although all except ChatGPT try to remain anonymous. The papers published by Nine Entertainment are currently being hit 30,000,000 times a month by AI content thieves. It is work for several people just to try to keep up with the blocking.) It's a tragedy of our times that anything can be abused by perverts. The latest is that AI systems are being used to exploit photos of children by removing clothing or putting other heads on bodies. The world's largest pornography site, PornHub, recently banned one of their advertisers who was paying a million dollars a year to advertise AI-generated child porn. That company is Australian. Elon Musk is threatening to sue a US state because it has banned Musk's Grok AI for the ease with which it can be used to produce images of naked children. Musk claims this is an infringement of free speech, a statement that renders sane people speechless.

Our Year 9 students recently attended the Bathurst Careers Expo , where they had the opportunity to explore a wide range of career options and pathways . They spoke with professionals from a variety of industries, learning about different jobs, training opportunities , and future study options. It was a valuable experience that gave many students new ideas and a better understanding of the opportunities available to them after school.

Education Week 2026
On Monday. August 3, we held a special school assembly to celebrate Education Week. The theme for Education Week 2026 is, "Inspiring Excellence". Our assembly acknowledged two students from each class for their commitment to learning and citizenship. We also acknowledged outstanding citizenship across each stage. Sharon Flinders was acknowledged for her contribution to our school in a volunteer capacity. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the performances from the K-2 and 3-6 choir. Our students enjoyed having families visit their classrooms and join them for morning tea. Congratulations to all our hard-working students.

Spelling Bee Winner
Congratulations to Tegfatehyab Singh who won the Regional Spelling Bee final today! He will now go to represent our school at the State Spelling Bee final. Congratulations also to Eli Ayres who placed in the top 9, another wonderful achievement. We are very proud of our wonderful spellers and wish Tegfatehyab the best of luck at the state final.

Book Parade and Book Fair!
Our students looked incredible in their creative costumes, and it was wonderful to see so much excitement and enthusiasm for reading. Thank you to all of our families for your support in making the day so special. A very special thank you to Mrs Martens for her outstanding organisation and dedication. Your hard work made the day such a success, and we are so grateful for everything you do. Many thanks also to the generous families who donated books to our library or classrooms. Well done to everyone who helped make today a memorable celebration of books and the joy of reading!
