St Joseph's Catholic School From the Principal Dear Parents, As we come to the end of Week 9, it is hard to believe that there are only two weeks remaining in what has been a busy and productive term. Last Sunday was a special occasion for several of our students who celebrated their First Holy Communion. We congratulate these children and their families on this important milestone in their faith journey and thank all those who helped prepare them for this sacred sacrament. Our Kindergarten students enjoyed a wonderful morning at the Teddy Bears' Picnic hosted by Circle Early Learning. The children had a fantastic time participating in a range of activities, making new friends and sharing this special experience with other young learners in our community. Next week, we are delighted to welcome back past student, Tobias Samundsett, who will be completing a week of work experience at our school. We look forward to having Tobias with us and hope his time here is enjoyable. As a school community, we also extend our best wishes to Aiden David and his family, who have recently moved to Lochinvar. We thank Aiden for his contribution to our school and wish him every happiness and success as he begins this exciting new chapter. Behind the scenes, our teachers are currently busily preparing Semester One reports. Considerable time, care and professional reflection go into the reporting process to ensure families receive meaningful information about their child's learning progress and achievements. We thank our staff for their dedication and commitment during this busy time of the term. Reports will be made available through the Compass Portal on the last day of term. Thank you for your continued support throughout the term. Every blessing,

Depth Study into Human Disease Our Stage 6 HMS students had an enriching experience at the Museum of Human Diseases at UNSW Sydney as part of their assessment task. The students attended a presentation covering Cirrhosis of the liver due to alcohol, Atherosclerosis due to diet and smoking and Tuberculosis as an infectious disease. Following this, we then explored the museum which houses over 1500 preserved human tissues and completed subject specific workbooks.
