External Validation On Tuesday, June 2, the assistant principals and I participated in the external validation process for public schools. This process provides an important opportunity to reflect on our journey of continuous improvement and excellence. I am incredibly proud to announce that we have received a rating of ‘excellence’ in 11 out of 14 areas against the School Excellence Framework from the External Validation team who conduct this work across the state. This is an amazing and significant achievement for any school. Today’s success belongs to our entire school staff. I would like to sincerely thank our staff for the work they do and for the passion they bring to their roles every day. I would also like to thank our families and wider community for the support and partnership you provide to our school. We are incredibly fortunate to work alongside such a positive and supportive community. We are a united team at Oberon Public School, committed to making the academic achievements and wellbeing of our wonderful students our number one focus. Every student at OPS is known, valued, challenged and cared for, always. Congratulations to the best staff ever! You can be assured that your child is receiving a great education at Oberon Public School. Jo'elle Frampton | Principal
Artists at work K/1H artists have been hard at work exploring the vibrant, storytelling art style of renowned Bundjalung artist Bronwyn Bancroft! As part of our art focus, the children practised using bold lines, rich colour layers and dot patterns to create these wonderful landscape artworks. It is National Reconciliation Week, making it the perfect time to celebrate and learn from First Nations artists and their fantastic contributions to culture and art. We are so proud of our little artists creativity and beautiful masterpieces! Sandie Higgins | Classroom Teacher

Our library looked absolutely incredible, and we would like to extend a huge thank you to Mrs Martens for the amazing job she did organising the day, decorating the library alongside our Year 6 students, and providing four copies of "Luna Roo" to give away!

A big thank you to both Stannies and MacKillop for hosting the day. We are very grateful for the opportunities provided.
Around the Rooms - Year 2 This term, Year 2 students have been enthusiastically engaged in a wide range of learning experiences across the curriculum. In English, students are exploring a hybrid text during our Great White Shark literature unit, which is developing their understanding of informational and narrative features. During Science and Technology, Year 2 students have been learning about forces through hands-on investigations and experiments. They raced soap boats, made pop-up toys and created wind-powered cars while exploring concepts such as push, pull, twist, spin and friction. In Mathematics, students have been showing improved automaticity and confidence through regular speed sheets and mental maths activities. In Visual Arts, students have been experimenting creatively with line and colour to produce imaginative artworks. Students also thoroughly enjoyed participating in the hockey clinic, where they demonstrated great skill, teamwork and enthusiasm. An excellent term so far!!
