St Joseph's Catholic School Our kinder students had the BEST time for their first excursion to see the live performance of "Spot" at BMEC in Bathurst.
Around the Rooms - Year 1 Year 1 has had a wonderful start to Term 2, filled with creativity, learning and exciting experiences. In Week 1, students worked collaboratively with Kindergarten and Year 2 to create our Waste2Art project. Our artwork explored the impact of pollution on the environment, and the students put in an incredible amount of effort. The finished pieces look fantastic! We also enjoyed participating in the Cross Country and Athletics Carnival. Congratulations to all students for their enthusiasm, teamwork and excellent sportsmanship. During Weeks 2 and 3, the Infants students worked hard to prepare for the Mother’s Day Liturgy. They did an outstanding job and it was lovely to celebrate with our mums and special visitors. In Week 3, we welcomed the local fire brigade for an engaging fire safety session. Students practised "Stop, Drop, Roll," discussed how to stay safe in an emergency, and watched a real life kitchen fire simulation! In the classroom, Year 1 students continue to learn and grow each day. They have made excellent progress throughout Semester One. We are currently experimenting with colour in Visual Arts, exploring narrative texts such as The Gruffalo, learning Australian Sign Language, enjoying dance breaks, caring for our class pets - Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, our spiny leaf insects - and spending time with our much loved bunnies! We are looking forward to all the exciting opportunities the rest of Term 2 will bring!
