St Joseph's Catholic School

Around the Rooms - Kindergarten

Kindergarten have settled beautifully back into Term 2 and we are so proud of all they have achieved so far. A huge highlight was completing their very first Cross Country and Athletics Carnival. Many students showed great bravery and resilience, shining throughout the day with smiles, laughs and encouragement for one another.

This term has also been filled with exciting experiences including Waste to Art activities, library visits, a visit from the Fire Brigade, leading the Mother’s Day Liturgy with the other Infants classes, and fun hands-on Science experiments.

Students have also been working hard learning new sounds during literacy sessions and have loved using our new online readers to practise the sounds taught each week in class. We can’t wait to continue watching their confidence, learning and friendships grow throughout the rest of the term.

Maths around the school

There has been so much wonderful evidence of great Maths learning happening across our school this term. It has been fantastic to see our students engaged, challenged and excited as they develop their mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills.

In classrooms, students are participating in hands-on Maths lessons that encourage collaboration, critical thinking and real-world learning. We are proud of the way our students are embracing challenges, explaining their thinking and growing in confidence as mathematicians.

Our EM2 Maths Extension program continues to provide opportunities for students to extend their mathematical understanding through rich and engaging tasks, while our MAP intervention program is supporting learners to build strong foundations and achieve success.

We celebrate the efforts, growth and achievements of all of our mathematicians and thank our teachers and support staff for the wonderful learning opportunities they provide each day.

This was a much closer match with Jaxon Christie-Johnston crossing over for a try. The boys showed great improvement through the day.
