Athletics Carnival Highlights!

Last Wednesday, we had an amazing day at the Athletics Carnival held at the Oberon Recreation Ground. It was fantastic to see so many students participating with enthusiasm and sporting their house colours with pride. Everyone gave their best, making the day truly memorable. Congratulations to Abercrombie for taking out the winning house title! Special shoutout to our record breakers: Lexi Booth – 12 Year girls 100m Paige McKenzie – 13 Years discus. Well done to all the students who took part and made it such a successful event. We can’t wait for next year!

Rural Cup Wrap-Up 2026

Over 100 students and staff travelled to Molong Central School for our final leg of Rural Cup for 2026. While the result did not go in our favour, we started the day strong and fought hard during all 6 sessions. We are so proud of the effort and sportsmanship demonstrated by Oberon High, and we will take this energy forward into 2027 Rural Cup preparation.

We would like to recognise our sportsmanship award winners as voted by the teachers for each session:

Senior Girl - Brittany Redman
Senior Boys tied with Tommy Cunningham & Wyatt Day
Junior Girl - Cattleya Maloney
Junior Boy - Marshall Taylor
Year 7 Girl - Lexi Booth
Year 7 Boy - Jai Hay

Terrific Touch

On the same day, five students from Oberon Public School attended the Bathurst District touch football trials. All five students trialled very well. Congratulations to Kiah Christie-Johnston and Jaxon Christie-Johnston who were both successful in making the district teams. They will now travel to Dubbo on the 27th May and will trial for the Western Region team.

Exploring Autumn

Our students have been making the most this change of season; exploring the forest and watching the changing colours all around them. Each day this week has brought a new adventure and discovery, from pumpkin carving to bush school! We love seeing the excitement and curiosity as Autumn unfolds!
