Community Connections Our Year 12 students, Carter Fitzpatrick and Myles Cosgrove, enjoyed an engaging visit to the Oberon Tourist Information Centre . This time, the focus was on learning about government services and how they support the local community and tourism. Debra guided our students through hands-on activities like panning for gold and sapphires, and discussed Oberon’s many attractions - including mushrooming, fossicking, and the unique history of the area. Building on their previous visit to a small business, Carter and Myles gained valuable insight into the structure and operations of a local government service. Thanks also to Deb Keane and the rest of the team for sharing their knowledge and hospitality! John Ryan and Sonia Page | MC Teachers

Wellbeing We gathered as a school community on Friday, March 27, to celebrate Harmony Day - a day where we celebrate all cultural diversity, inclusiveness and a sense of belonging for everyone. This day tied in perfectly after our Wellbeing week in week 7.
Around the Rooms - Year 5 WOW! What a busy and exciting start to Year 5 we have had! Amongst all of our learning we have celebrated Harmony Day, completed NAPLAN, participated in our Swimming Carnival, Celebrated Harmony Day and our biggest highlight so far would have to be going onto our Stage 3 excursion with Year 6 to Sydney. During class we are beginning to learn about 3D shapes and have already learnt about numbers into the millions, 2x2 digit multiplication, respectful relationships and have just finished our class novel - 'The Wild Robot.' We are lucky enough to be able to watch 'The Wild Robot' in class to finish off our unit for the end of Term. Our excursion saw us attending Mary Mackillop place, where students were fascinated to learn about Mary Mackillop and see the cottage she lived in until the day she passed away. We then had an adventure on the Metro train, a first for nearly all of us and went to St. Mary's Cathedral where we were lucky enough to attend for the end of Mass and receive the Eucharist and a blessing whilst there. We also attended the Australian Museum where we were intrigued by taxidermy animals, gemstones and skeletons. We went up Centrepoint Tower to view the city from all angles (The boys liked to point out Allianz Stadium for myself - the NRL Roosters homeground and then continue to stir me up about the loss against the Panthers recently). To end the day, we had a nice walk across to our hotel where we were able to share a meal, dessert and laughter into the night before settling before bed. The next day took us to the Young Leaders Day. We were able to see and listen to Australian leaders: Catherine Laga'aia (Actress of Moana in the new Disney Live movie being released this year), Nick Hudson (Creator of the Push up Challenge, and we also learnt that he is 1% cow), Jess Yates (TV host, sports journalist and now a children's book author) and Jacqui Bell (Ultra Marathon Runner). We learnt that all four inspiring leaders had to endure some challenges, overcome fears and build the skill of patience and resilience in order to achieve their dreams…and once their dreams are met, they don't stop there. They inspired us to keep going, believe in ourselves and never give up on our hopes and dreams. If this is what Term 1 has given us, we can not wait for the rest of the year together!
Cross Country Success! What a fantastic afternoon at our Cross Country! Our students from Years 2–6 showed incredible determination, resilience, and - most importantly - outstanding sportsmanship. It was wonderful to see students encouraging one another, celebrating achievements, and giving their best effort from start to finish. You should all be very proud! Congratulations to all our runners for representing our school so positively!
