What a brilliant morning at our Charity Fete!

huge thank you to everyone who came along, supported, volunteered, donated and helped make the day such a success. The sense of community was incredible. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces enjoying the stalls, activities and time together.

We're so grateful for the generosity and support shown by our community - it truly makes a difference.

Around the Rooms - Year 3

Year 3 has made a wonderful start to the 2026 school year and students have settled in very well to the routines and expectations of being in Primary. It has been lovely to see how quickly they have adjusted and how confidently they are embracing this new stage of their schooling.

In English, students have been thoroughly enjoying the novel Fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl. They have been captivated by the clever adventures of Mr Fox and enjoy reading the story together, discussing the characters and events, and sharing their ideas about what might happen next.

Drama has been a fun and engaging part of the week, with students enthusiastically taking part in activities that encourage creativity, expression and teamwork. During Physical Education lessons, students have been busy refining their fundamental movement skills, particularly focusing on kicking and striking. Through a variety of games and activities, they are developing their coordination, control and teamwork skills.

It has been a busy and positive start to the year, and we are looking forward to seeing the students continue to grow in confidence and enthusiasm for learning throughout the term.

Around the Rooms - Year 4

Year 4 has made a fantastic start to the school year and the students have settled into their new routines very well.

In English, Year 4 has been enjoying spending time reading and exploring the text ‘The Tuckshop Kid'. Students have immersed themselves in a range of tasks. A class favourite was creating our own Tuckshop Menus. Students experimented with humour and rhyming phrases to create their personalised menus. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they practise their reading skills and develop a love of stories.

We have been thoroughly enjoying PE lessons this term. Students have shown great enthusiasm and energy while taking part in a variety of activities and games revolving around striking and catching. It has been fantastic to see everyone encouraging one another, demonstrating teamwork, and developing their skills while staying active. PE has quickly become a highlight of the week for many students, and it is wonderful to see them having so much fun while learning the importance of teamwork and healthy movement.

Year 4 has also been focused on presenting a memorable liturgy for St Joseph's Day. All students have put their best foot forward and have been willing participants. I applaud their efforts, reverence and confidence to do so.

All students have shown great enthusiasm for learning and are already demonstrating a positive attitude towards their work. We look forward to an exciting year of learning together.

Come and Try Athletics

K-4F attended a 'Come and Try Athletics Day'. We got to test our skills at discus, shot put and javelin, and raced against other schools. Although it was a hot and sweaty day, we had so much fun trialling these sports and are now ready to showcase all we learnt at the athletics carnival. Bring it on!

Creative Learning

5/6D have been enjoying studying dance movements from diverse cultural contexts. The girls have worked on ways dancers communicate emotions through movement and expression and the ways in which music styles influence our emotions. It has been very entertaining to see the student's interpretations and enjoyment! We have also explored various strategies to solve maths addition problems. A fantastic start to term 1, 5/6D! Your teachers are loving seeing your enthusiasm and progress!

Culture Insights

1/2GF enjoyed a special visit from a class parent Mrs Cufurovic, who shared her knowledge of Islamic culture with us. Students were highly engaged in meaningful discussions about Ramadan and Eid and learnt what these important occasions represent and why they are celebrated. We also read the beautiful story 'In My Mosque', which helped deepen our understanding. To top off the experience, students were kindly gifted a cookie and a colouring-in page. Thank you, Mrs Cufurovic for such an enriching and thoughtful visit!

Hampton Public School

Outdoor Learning at Hampton Public School.

Students and teachers made the most of the beautiful autumn sunshine by taking their learning outside today. Kindergarten, years 1 and 2 enjoyed their shared reading, while students in years 3-6 analysed the structure of hybrid texts. During break time, they had a bike safety lesson and helmet fitting before taking their bikes to the track.
