Double, double toil and trouble,
Fire burn and cauldron bubble!

The witches made their prophecy on Friday 6th March and determined Oberon High School students would have an awesome opportunity to view parts of Shakespeare's most villainous play, Macbeth. Students from Kelso High and Bathurst High joined us to watch Come You Spirits present the play and discuss key elements including the witches brew, Lady Macbeth's power speech and the encroaching forest that attacked Macbeth in the end. Thank you to Oberon Rotary and Come You Spirits for bringing such a wonderful event to our school.

Around the Rooms - Year 2

This term in Year 2, students have been exploring images of God in Religious Education and bringing their ideas to life through Visual Arts.

As part of our learning, we discussed the image of God as a potter - someone who carefully shapes and forms with patience and love. The children shared thoughtful ideas about what this tells us about God’s care for people. They made wonderful connections between the role of a potter and the way we are each unique and special.

In Visual Arts, students created their own pinch pots from clay. They carefully shaped, moulded and painted their pots, experiencing firsthand what it feels like to be a potter. This hands-on activity helped them better understand the image we had been discussing in class, while also developing their fine motor skills and creativity. Each piece was unique and full of character!

In English, students enjoyed reading Peggy by Anna Walker. They examined the structure of the text as an example of a circular narrative, identifying how the story returns to where it began. Through class discussions and writing activities, students developed their comprehension skills and explored how authors use narrative structure to create satisfying and meaningful stories.

Year Two have had an excellent start to the year!
