You need schoolin' and I'm not foolin'February 26, 2026
Hampton Public School On February 19, students from Hampton had the opportunity to attend a Pulse Alive rehearsal at Olympic Park, enjoying a full day of dance and music with their teachers.
O'Connell Public School Mid Week MasterChef This fortnight, my brilliant sous chefs helped whip up an all time favourite - traditional carbonara! Teamwork, tasty skills, and lots of cheesy smiles all round. Just as importantly, they took real responsibility for the clean-up, which shows great respect for their space and working together to leave the kitchen spotless. We're building chefs and responsible humans! Miss Doble l SLSO/Chef de Cuisine
Oberon Public School Meet the Teacher Thank you to the families who attended our parent teacher information evening. It was a great opportunity for teachers to meet all our wonderful parents. Families enjoyed chatting with teachers about the year ahead. We look forward to working with our families throughout 2026. Jo'elle Frampton l Principal
Shapes in our Environment Since the start of school, K/1M have been learning about shapes and where they appear in everyday life. They explored the school to find different shapes, drew ones they were familiar with, and discovered new shapes. They also enjoyed using shapes and geoboards to create their own pictures. Nicola McMahon | Classroom Teacher
Positive Peer Support Today, our Year 6 students started to deliver our Peer Support Program. This program empowers students, builds positive relationships, develops social and emotional skills and contributes to a positive school culture. Our peer support leaders are very excited about this opportunity. Erin McMurray and Cameron Wright | Coordinators
Starting strong 3/4MK have started the year developing new friendships, stepping out of our comfort zone and diving into our new units of work. We can't wait to see the learning and achievements made by our class throughout the year. Chloe Killen | Classroom Teacher
Oberon High School Making a splash! On February 18, Oberon High School dived into fun with our annual swimming carnival! True House spirit shone brightly as students and staff rocked their house colours with pride. Many eager participants took part in every event they could, racking up fantastic participation points for their Houses. The belly flop novelty event made a big splash, and our entrants were showing off their best (or funniest!) splashes. As always, the relays brought fierce house rivalry, filled with loud cheering and great sportsmanship all around. Staff verses students' race was won by our staff this year. Congratulations to Tuglow and Werong, equal 1st on 442, Abercrombie 3rd on 438 on their big win. This is the closest in school history. Andrew Mitton | Coordinator
Tower Triumphs Our Stage 5 Industrial Technology - Timber class recently completed an exciting structural design project, where students were tasked with designing and constructing a wooden tower as part of their exploration of structures. A highlight of this task was testing the structural integrity of their towers, which averaged only 60 grams in weight. Impressively, every group achieved the goal of having their tower hold 1000 times its own weight, demonstrating excellent teamwork, problem-solving, and an understanding of engineering principles. The best part was the suspense right before the towers finally gave way – everyone was on edge, waiting for the collapse. Mark Armstrong | TAS Teacher
St Joseph's Catholic School Around the Rooms - Kindergarten Kindergarten students have continued to settle confidently into school life, building positive friendships and growing in independence each day. They are thoroughly enjoying their learning space and are becoming familiar with classroom routines. Library borrowing has begun, and the students are excited to share their books each week. The school chickens and rabbit have been a highlight of our learning in science where we have explored living and non-living things. Kindergarten displayed artwork of the rainbow trout in the Oberon show, which was a hit. Every lesson, kindergarten are curious and excited to share their experiences and ideas with each other. We can't wait to see them grow even more in the next few weeks.
What a wonderful week
