Look at all that learningDecember 4, 2025
St Joseph's Catholic School Interparish Soccer Day 18 of our Year 5/6 students proudly represented our school and parish at the Inaugural Interparish Soccer Day in Orange. It was a fantastic event filled with energy, teamwork and great community spirit. Our players are to be highly commended for their sportsmanship, determination and impressive skill on the field. Despite facing very tough competition, with the opposing teams made up mostly of Year 10 students, our team showed courage and resilience throughout the day. A big congratulations to Kobi Pointon, who was awarded Player’s Player for his outstanding skill, effort and teamwork. Well done also to our goal scorers, Zaidyn Holmes and Madden Armstrong, who showed excellent composure under pressure. And finally, a special mention must go to Fr Owen, whose agility, competitiveness and enthusiasm on the field brought plenty of smiles and support from the sidelines! Thank you to all who supported the day and we are incredibly proud of our team. Next year's day will be held in Cowra.
Around the rooms - Year 4 What a busy and exciting term it has been! We were delighted to welcome Miss Pringle into our classroom at the beginning of the term, and over the past six weeks the students have thoroughly enjoyed learning new skills and content from her, particularly in Science and Health. Swimming was certainly a highlight, with Weeks 4 and 5 spent building confidence and developing water-safety skills—while also keeping cool in the warmer weather. In English, we are studying the novel Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White. The students have enjoyed reading the chapters together and strengthening their comprehension and writing skills through activities connected to the storyline. As we approach the end of the 2025 school year, excitement is building with preparations underway for our Christmas concert, Kris Kringle and upcoming fun day. We are looking forward to finishing the year on a joyful and positive note!
This week Pre Kindergarten was bursting with excitement and discovery! We celebrated our first library visit and the students were eager to choose their very own books for the classroom. Our creative time was spent making vibrant crepe-paper art. We enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon together with bubbles, a jumping castle, tenpin bowling and spending time with the school rabbit and a gentle lamb. See you next week for some fun Christmas art. Miss Olivia Pringle Pre K Teacher

Oberon Public School Terrific Time! This week, 1/2T have been learning about how to tell time by creating their own clocks. Craft Lessons We have been extra creative in K-6M! Over the past few weeks we have enjoyed cooking, crafting and creating all sorts of fun things! We have used paddle-pop sticks to make Christmas themed hangers for our trees. We have also experimented with ingredients to make playdoh which we then turned into fun creations. O'Connell Public School CAPA 2025 The Bathurst Small Schools CAPA Festival is a wonderful biennial celebration of dance, music, drama, and visual arts, bringing together public school students from Kindergarten to Year 6 across small schools at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre. It’s inspiring to watch our young artists and performers collaborate and shine on a professional stage! A massive thank you to our incredible staff, as well as Anna and Rob, who make this all possible. Mrs Milton, our fantastic art teacher, always has the kids excited for her lessons and carefully curated a masterpiece from each student, presenting them beautifully for everyone to enjoy. Mrs Forsyth is the mastermind behind the scenes, expertly managing all showbiz logistics - from rehearsals to run sheets - ensuring everything runs smoothly from start to curtain call. And of course, our fabulous Mrs Richardson is the backbone, charisma, and driving force of the entire production! She has worked tirelessly with our students this term, leading the dances, plays, costumes, music, and much more - truly the spearhead of our showbiz success. What a fantastic event celebrating creativity, teamwork, and community spirit! Miss Doble l SLSO
