Volume or Capacity?

Often a confusing concept!

Students in 3/4D took advantage of the warm weather to explore the concept of capacity. They calculated the capacity of a variety of containers using the formal units of L and ml. Getting splashed on a hot day was an added benefit.

Learning Growth

K/1H have been busy planting, watering and watching their seeds sprout as part of our Living Things unit in Science. We’ve been learning that all living things need food, water, air and sunlight to survive. The children have enjoyed recording changes, measuring growth and celebrating each new leaf that appears.

Making Waves

Last Thursday, 7 students travelled to Sydney Harbour for a sailing experience. Fabulous volunteers showed us the ropes with many students trying their hand at steering the boat around the harbour. The children enjoyed taking in the sea breeze and seeing the wonderful views from the front deck while talking with volunteers about aspects of running a sailing boat. We finished with a tour of the cabin to look at the sleeping quarters. A huge thankyou to the Making Waves Foundation and volunteers for making the day so wonderful!

Around the rooms - Year 2

Year 2 students have thoroughly enjoyed reading "The Twits" in literature. To complete our unit, we watched the movie on Thursday whilst munching on popcorn!

The students have just completed a unit on Chance and Data in Mathematics where they showed commendable growth in their knowledge and understanding.

Year 2 should be commended for their wonderful behaviour and efforts in swimming lessons. They have been a pleasure to work with.
