Earth Explorations

As part of Year 7 study on the Rock Cycle and the layers of the Earth, students created detailed scale models of our planet . This hands-on activity helped them to better understand the complex structure beneath the Earth's surface, including the crust, mantle, outer core , and inner core. To enrich their learning experience, the students enjoyed looking back at a flashback photo of the Year 7 class from 2020 - who have now just graduated - participating in the very same activity.

Remembrance Day

On November 11, our school proudly participated in the town's Remembrance Day service, gathering solemnly at the Oberon Cenotaph to honour and remember the brave men and women who have served our country. Tommy Cunningham and Jimmi Rowlandson had the meaningful privilege of laying a wreath as a mark of respect and gratitude for the sacrifices made in pursuit of peace and freedom. We thank our community for coming together to commemorate this important day and reflect on the values of courage, sacrifice, and hope.

Hampton Public School

The Hampton P&C were out of town on Saturday, November 8, with a sausage sizzle at the Oberon Visitor Information Centre. The event was the Fossicking Frenzy and the P&C was there to fossick for funds for a school bus. Students at Hampton come from a wide area and a small bus would make it easier for everyone to get to school on time.

Farm to Plate

Last term, 5/6W explored how food gets from the farm to our plates by germinating a range of seeds including corn, radishes, carrots and sunflowers. This term, they have transplanted the seedlings into larger pots, ready for their new home in the school veggie patch!

Marvellous Mini Fete

On Friday, November 7, Year 6 hosted their annual mini fete. K-6 students participated in a range of activities; a disco, sponge throwing, face painting, snowcones, hair spray, haunted house and lots more. Thanks to the generous support of our families who supplied cakes for the cake stall. $1575.00 was raised and will go towards the Year 6 farewell gift. Thank you to Year 6 for a fantastic mini fete.

On Remembrance Day, students paused to honour the courage and sacrifice of those who served and continue to serve our country. We reflected with gratitude and remembered that their bravery has helped secure the peace and freedoms we enjoy today.

Lest we forget.

Lest we forget

This week our Pre K students continued to build confidence and independence as they settled into familiar routines. This week, we had lots of fun creating duck art paintings and practising tracing with crayons to strengthen our fine-motor skills. The students were also very excited to spend time with the school rabbit and their buddies, sharing smiles and laughter throughout the day. We can’t wait to see their curiosity and friendships continue to grow next week with more fun, learning and creativity!

Around the rooms Year 1

What a busy term we are having already in Term 4 - swimming lessons, Healthy Harold, Grandparents Day, Pink Up Oberon, lots of learning (and lots of play!) and bunny cuddles!! Year 1 have been learning about Australia’s place in the world, the continents and oceans in Geography. In Religious Education, we are learning the Creation story and have created some wonderful artworks for this. It is also that time of year for assessments and finalising topics we have covered, and I am so proud of how well every student has progressed this year. We are also very busy preparing our Christmas Concert performance. Students have been super enthusiastic and cooperative with all the changes and fun activities we have had, it is going to be a wonderful end to Year 1!
