Around the rooms - Kindergarten

Kindergarten have had a great and busy start to Term 4! Students have settled back into routines with excitement and energy, ready for a wonderful end to the year.

So far, we have enjoyed a special visit from Healthy Harold, where we learned all about being a good friend - showing kindness, sharing, and helping others. We have also been busy practising for our Christmas Concert surprise, and the children can't wait to share it with families later this term!

In the classroom, we are continuing to grow our skills across all learning areas. In Mathematics, students have been exploring addition to 20 using hands-on games and number stories. In English, we are learning about digraphs and split digraphs in spelling and using our new knowledge to write compound sentences that make our ideas more interesting.

During PDHPE, students have been developing the fundamental movement skills of catching and throwing, working together through fun games and challenges. In Religion, we are learning about Caring for God's Creations, reflecting on ways we can look after the wonderful world God has given us.

It's been a joyful and productive start to the term, filled with learning, laughter, and lots of excitement!

Year 9 Fundraiser!

On Friday, October 31, Year 9 hosted a mufti day and cake stall to raise funds for Year 9. Many thanks to Kaleb Pipes from Arvo Life Church for lending us the popcorn machine, Mrs Stephens and Carter Fitzpatrick for helping make the popcorn and the P and C for the costume prizes. The prizes were hard to choose, as there were so many awesome costumes, but in the end Mrs Mawhood, Mrs Curry, Charlette Fishlock, Madi Gehrig-Fraser, Jackson Hunter and Leah Townsend were successful. Year 9 raised $107 and a great day was had by all!

Billy Cart Derby!

Last Friday was the completion of a unit where students worked in groups to design and build a Billy Cart which would be raced in a time trial event at the Oberon Common. Students also had to think about the presentation and theme for their cart as well as dressing up and performing as part of the competition. The Technology Mandatory classes in Yr 8 set up the race rules, track features of the event, and managed the presentation on the day.

Overall Champions: Kim Long Yee, Jason Certoma and Jacob Gumley.

A great day was had by all and thanks to everyone who helped.

From classroom concepts to real world creations!

Our students' hard work in Cartesian plane planning has paid off! As part of our HPGE program, students were treated to an incredible excursion to Butler Engineering, where they saw their designs come to life - loading base materials and operating the Dot Peen machine to create their own pieces. A huge thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Butler for welcoming us and supporting/celebrating hands-on learning for every student!
