What did you learn in school today?September 18, 2025
Oberon High School Oberon High School proudly celebrated NAIDOC Day, embracing the rich culture and history of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our students respectfully and enthusiastically engaged in activities that deepened their understanding and appreciation. Through their learning and connection, we are fostering reconciliation and building a future grounded in respect, unity, and shared stories. Together, we honour the past and inspire change for generations to come.
Bucket Beats Recently, Ms Hibbert reached out on Facebook looking for plastic buckets to use in our music lessons. Thanks to Mighty Helpful Mitre 10 Bathurst, we now have plenty of buckets for our students to enjoy bucket drumming - a fun, creative and affordable way to make music together. Tristan Goodwin | Principal
Oberon Public School Handball Giveaway Last Friday, every student received a handball for their wonderful attendance this term. Attending school regularly is important. When we come to school every day, we learn new things, we learn from our teachers and do fun activities. At school, we make friends and learn how to work together. It helps us to develop a sense of belonging and become more confident in class. We wanted to acknowledge our students who attended school on Friday by holding an attendance acknowledgement. Nicola McMahon | Attendance Coordinator
Fabulous Friday Attendance Congratulations to our attendance raffle winner, Isaac Lenhard who came to school 90% or more of the time last fortnight, and it paid off. He received a hot dog pack to share with his family. Nicola McMahon | Attendance Coordinator

Black Springs Public School Healthy Harold Last Tuesday our students joined Trunkey Public School, Lyndhurst Public School and Carcoar Public School for a fun and educational day at Neville Public School. All students enjoyed an awesome session in the Life Education van with Healthy Harold and Maree, learning about healthy choices, safety, and wellbeing. Leesa also delivered a fantastic first aid workshop covering CPR, snake bites, asthma, and more! Mrs Blattman got everyone exercising with some exciting outdoor fitness activities, and we all enjoyed a delicious, healthy morning tea and lunch. A big thank you to the wonderful presenters and staff for making the day such a success! Black Springs Public School staff.

Fathers Day BBQ Breakfast Spring was definitely in the air at Hampton Public School for our bbq breakfast. It was a special time for our children, and staff, to share a bacon and egg roll and a cuppa with their dads and grand dads for Fathers Day. Thank you all for coming along and joining in amongst our beautiful gardens.
Living Country, Living Culture Blackheath An excursion to the NPWS Heritage Centre provided Hampton students and teachers with a valuable learning experience centered on Indigenous culture. Under the guidance of our Discovery Guide, participants gained understanding of cultural practices, including controlled burns that sustain the natural bushland. A bush walk along the Heritage Trail to Govetts Leap featured informative stops showcasing the diverse fauna and bush tucker.
St Joseph's Catholic School RUOK Day
Around the Rooms - Year 5 Wow! Year 5 has had a very busy term, especially this past week. Highlights of this term have definitely been our visit to La Salle last Friday to give our students a taste of high school, as well as the past 3 days spent in Canberra for our Stage 3 excursion. La Salle saw us holding burning fire within our hands, learning about Saints, planting our very own oats to take home and building a paper tower to hold a 400g can. All students loved the experience and it has excited them for High School in 2027. Canberra - we visited: the War Memorial, Parliament house, Old Parliament house, the Electoral Education Centre, the National Arboretum, Questacon, Australian Institute of Sport, Museum of Democracy, Cockington Greens Garden AND of course Jungle Golf- glow in the dark. It was very busy but so much fun. The students loved every minute of it, as did the teachers. We learnt a lot about our Nation's Capital and we are sure that all of the children went home and had a lot to say to their parents about it. We are very proud of how our students conducted themselves, behaved at night and engaged in all tours and activities!!! Back in the classroom - we have been learning about angles and the different types of triangles there are in Mathematics. Different types of Poetry in English and we even performed our very own Slam Poems in class in front of our peers.
