Oberon Public School Learning Measurement 1/2GF have been busy learning all about measurement in class. We now know there are 100cm in a metre and this week we put our knowledge to the test by measuring different objects around the classroom. The students had a great time working out which items were longer or shorter than a metre. Shannon Fisher | Classroom Teacher

Students are exploring the art of telling stories without words, using only their expressions and movements to captivate the audience. Every student has embraced creativity, teamwork and quick thinking. Our classroom has been full of laughter, surprises and unforgettable moments as we bring their stories to life. Families gathered together, sharing smiles and stories over sizzling bacon and egg rolls lovingly prepared by our dedicated OPS staff. We're truly grateful for all the love, support, and strength these amazing men provide every single day. A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful P&C for organising a fantastic gift stall, making sure our dads feel extra special this Sunday. Our students have an extra special day as they are wearing their sport jerseys for their Opsie Acknowledgement. Jo'elle Frampton | Principal

During the lesson, students practised important measurement and mathematics skills while collecting and analysing their data . It was fantastic to see science and maths come together, inspiring curiosity and deeper understanding in our students. Peter O'Neill | Science Teacher

St Joseph's Catholic School All excited for another day of fun and learning with Stage 3 in the Nation's Capital.
Around the rooms - Year 4 Year 4 has been busy and buzzing with activity this term! Students are loving the books they are focusing on in Literacy - The Green Sash which is a book about Ned Kelly and The Littlest Refugee by the famous Anh Do. Artwork has been created around the Australian theme of Ned and Australian Flora. On Tuesday this week, students were transported by the school bus to a Retreat Day at La Salle Academy Lithgow. The theme for the day was Unity & Togetherness. This special day was facilitated by La Salle's Year 9 Students who are a part of Catholic Schools Youth Ministry International. The students loved meeting students from St Joseph's Portland and St Patrick's Lithgow. It was such a fun-filled day, and we are very grateful for the efforts of the La Salle teachers and students. Year 4 continues to enjoy sports rotations this term. A highlight is the Oberon Gym and Tennis Courts. We look forward to the exciting weeks ahead, especially our Excursion in Week 10!
