Year 12 Excursion

Our Year 12 excursion to Sydney was an experience filled with fun and adventure . On Thursday, students began their day at the Sealife Aquarium , exploring marine life up close and encouraging a deeper appreciation for our oceans . After the aquarium, they enjoyed a ferry ride around the Sydney harbour , followed by shopping, a delicious dinner and movies. On Friday, activities included laser tag, bowling and a game of aqua golf , highlighting their skills while having fun . The excursion was guided by Mr Cameron Inwood, Ms Alaine Fitzpatrick and Miss Claudia Humphries, who also had fun while ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience . Overall, this excursion was an opportunity for students to strengthen their bonds, develop teamwork skills, and create unforgettable memories as they prepare for their final year together.

Japanese Visit

Students and teachers from Senshu University, Japan visited our school! They were warmly welcomed and shown a slideshow prepared by our Year 7 students about the beautiful township of Oberon . Our talented Aboriginal Dance Group performed before teaching the Japanese students some dance techniques. This was followed by fun 'Getting to Know You' games, and during recess, our guests had the chance to taste some delicious Australian treats: lamingtons, fairy bread, Vegemite sandwiches, pies and Caramello Koalas . To finish off the visit, we enjoyed music and origami lessons before saying "Sayonara!"

Artful Artists

Last term, KM welcomed Mrs Cufurovic to our classroom. She is a well accomplished artist and came in to share her knowledge and skills with Kindergarten. They learnt about primary colours, mixing paints and water colour effects. Mrs Cufurovic led children through an art lesson where they created an under the sea artwork. It was a wonderful afternoon full of fun, learning and laughter. We would like to thank Mrs Cufurovic for sharing her expertise and her kindness.

NAIDOC

As we continue to celebrate NAIDOC our students participated today in a rescheduled live stream video from Taronga Zoo. The event celebrated First Nations culture, connection to Country, and storytelling through wildlife. The zoo video featured the Animals of the Dreaming program, presented by Brewarrina Elder Col Hardy. Our students discovered how native animals such as the frog, shingleback lizard, possum and turtle play a central role in Dreaming stories and the lessons they hold about respect, and care, and identity.
