Shape Exploration

In K/1H, our young learners have been exploring the wonderful world of 2D shapes and 3D objects. From circles to cubes, students have been identifying and discovering shapes all around them - in the classroom and even in everyday objects. It's been a hands-on, fun-filled adventure in geometry!

Creative Learning

5/6W have been making the most of term 2. They’ve loved using the STEM room, enjoying music lessons with the VR kit, creating phone holders with the 3D printer to solve the real-world problem of hands-free video watching while eating and improving their basketball skills through Sporting Schools. Plenty of fun and learning happening in 5/6W!

Try a Trade

Last Thursday, eight of our students attended a Try a Trade event at Lithgow High School. Mr Sinclair, Head Teacher TAS, accompanied them, and we appreciate Live Better for providing transport. During the event, students had the opportunity to ask industry representatives questions about various trade pathways. They also participated in hands-on activities to get a feel for different trades. It was a valuable experience for our students as they explored their future career options.

Cross Country Fun Day!

Last Friday, students had fun while they participated in the annual school cross country. It was a great afternoon, with the sun shining and all students enjoying the course - whether they were walking or running. Grace Lewis, Sam Shaw, Rose Christie-Johnston, Marshall Taylor, Kiana Wall, Jason Certoma, Sophie Fisher, Kyle Odobasic, Libby Taylor, Wyatt Day, Jorja Taylor and Codie Keelty were our fastest students on the day, with plenty of close contenders in all age groups. Official results and information for Western Cross Country will be circulated in the next few days.

We had a very special visitor drop by - an adorable wombat! Seems like having our school open to community visitors really means open to all species! A massive thank you to Oberon WIRES for ensuring our furry friend is well taken care of. Leonie from our Front Office was thrilled to welcome our new guest! Who knew that school spirit could be so cute?

Parent Workshop

A big thank you to our Assistant Principal, Mrs Murray, for sharing her wealth of knowledge recently about how young children learn to read and strategies for parents to use at home. It was great to see parents and carers attend, with a strong willingness to support their little ones.

Sydney Symphony Orchestra

Our students travelled to Bathurst last Friday to experience the magic of live orchestral music with the Sydney Symphony. In this enchanting concert the students were inspired and delighted by the magical classical favourites by Mendelssohn, Ravel and more. Conducted by Benjamin Northey with Timothy Constable as the presenter and musical tour guide, the students could not resist the magic of some of the most beloved classical music of all time.
