Principal’s Morning Tea

Last Friday we held our first Principal's Morning Tea with invited parents and carers. Students were recognised for their excellent school citizenship and positive impact on the school community. This was an opportunity for me to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of our students.

Agricultural Knots

Learning to tie knots in Agriculture is a valuable skill for students, as it plays a crucial role in various farm tasks, from securing loads to building and repairing fences. Mastering different types of knots, like the figure eight knot, not only enhances students' practical abilities but also instills problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Toy Innovations

Recently in the Child Studies class as part of our module "Play and the Developing Child", the students were tasked with researching and critically examining a commercial toy, specifically focusing on its design, materials, safety features and effectiveness in targeting developmental areas for young children. Following this analysis, students were required to develop and create their own toy that aligns with sustainability principles, emphasizing the concepts of reuse, repurpose, and recycle. The goal was to encourage innovative thinking in designing toys that are environmentally friendly while still engaging and safe for children. The class developed some amazing toys and are highly praised for their efforts in this task. Well done!

Excursion

Last Friday our students enjoyed an excursion to see a performance of the Gruffalo Play and also an art workshop at Bunnings. They loved the performance, especially the audience participation, and are looking forward to presenting their dads, uncles and grandfathers with a special gift for Father's Day.

Creative Engineers

In 5/6W, students have been hard at work on a STEM project: designing a pencil and ruler holder for their desks. The students have worked together using cardboard prototypes to brainstorm and then digitally develop their designs on Tinkercad. After much anticipation, they are thrilled to finally have their designs come to life with the use of our school’s 3D printer.
