Sensational Sydney!

We have had an amazing first day in Sydney. We visited Hyde Park barracks and gained an understanding into early convict life. We visited Sydney museum and learnt more about our past. The ANZAC Memorial was incredibly informative and interesting, as was The Rocks tour. A real highlight for the students was walking across the harbour bridge on sunset.

NAIDOC celebrations

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As part of our celebrations, we held an assembly where Martika Davies gave the Acknowledgement of Country and some of our students performed a dance taught by Jordan Boney during our Aboriginal Dance program. Students and staff participated in a range of activities including Ochre workshop, cooking Johnny cakes, playing traditional Indigenous games and art. We would like to thank special guests for attending our school today.

Top 20 in the State!

Last Thursday and Friday, the open girls' volleyball team competed in the CHS NSW Top 20 Knockout at Sydney Olympic Park. We had some mixed results over the two days, playing some very tough competition but the highlight was the big win over McIntyre High School which meant we finished 18th overall. We are very proud of our girls competing well against massive schools.
