Learning about Leadership

Our school captains attended the GRIP leadership conference, gaining knowledge to assist them in their leadership journey. They participated in a range of activities and developed an understanding of the skills they need to use in their role as school leaders.

Congratulations to Leila Muratovic and Maddy Cooper who attended the Western Region Hockey trials in Bathurst yesterday. Both girls played incredibly well and can be very proud of their efforts. Special congratulations to Maddy who was selected in the team and will now represent Western Region at the NSW PSSA State Hockey Championships in Newcastle in May. Well done Maddy!

We held our annual cross country event for all students Kindergarten to Year 6. Students wore their house colours proudly which created a wonderful atmosphere with lots of house spirit and sportsmanship on display. Thank you to wonderful P & C for organising a delicious sausage sizzle. The winning house was Vulcan. Congratulations to everyone.

An Eggcellent Parade

Easter celebration fun started with our Easter Hat Parade today. Students displayed their hats and bonnets, cheered on by parents and friends. Pre-schoolers from Oberon Children's Centre also joined in the fun and there was a surprise for each student. We also announced our Easter raffle winners! Thank you to the P and C for organising another very successful raffle.

The Easter Bunny!

Walk & Talk Tour

Our 2025 Kindergarten students and their parents thoroughly enjoyed the Walk & Talk tour. The children had lots of fun exploring the school, finding friends and siblings, and experimenting with the digital technology in the STEM room. We look forward to seeing them at our transition program in term 4.

St Joseph's Catholic School

Mr Brown and Mr Harvey travelled with nine Stage 2 boys to participate in the Peachey/Richardson Cup. Students from Lithgow, Walleragang, Gulgong and Oberon gathered in Wallerawang for an action packed day of rugby league. The Russell Richardson cup is part of a seven-a-side rugby league competition which involved competitive and non-competitive sides. It is open to all schools, Catholic, independent and government, west of the Blue Mountains. The competition is named after Dubbo-born Peachey and Richardson, who went on to represent Australia in rugby league. Our competitive Stage 2 team took on two All Hallow's Catholic Primary School Gulgong teams, one team from Cooerwull Public School and one team from Wallerawang Public School. Our boys played mighty well and won all of their matches against these competitive teams with every student from our school scoring at least one try on the day. A special thanks to Brett Newstead who helped warm up the boys and put them through various skills and drills.
