She won first prize in the Senior Category and Overall Champion. Here at school, she received a Band 5 for her artwork in Visual Arts. As you can see in the photos, a dot painting expressing her personal experience and how we all deal with depression at a particular time and how you see the colour through your grey. Every circle took Maegan one hour to complete, she worked day and night to finalise her major artwork. Congratulations, Maegan! Racheal Samuels - Visual Arts Teacher
Swimming Carnival The 2024 Oberon High Swimming Carnival went off with a real splash as student numbers, participation rates and record breakers were all on the increase from previous years. School spirit was on show as House chants, relays and the novelty events nearly took the roof down with the noise created by the spectators. Werong regained the House swimming title for 2024 with 586 points followed by Tuglow with 497 and Abecrombie on 344. Big congratulations go out to Lachie Maclure who broke the 17yrs 25metre freestyle event with a time of 13.31 seconds and Jacob Gumley who broke the 100metre freestyle event with a time of 1min25.30 seconds. A huge effort from both boys. A big thank you to David Sellers and his amazing team at the Oberon Pool Complex, the families for coming along to support and the teaching staff for helping to make the day work so well. Andrew Mitton - Coordinator Year 8 Visual Arts Students have been using their critical thinking skills in 3D dimensional forms. They are making animal clay sculptures for the animal installation at next year’s Oberon Show. Racheal Samuels - Visual Arts Teacher
