Limoncello at the Rockley PubSeptember 3, 2026
Oberon Matters caught up with Limoncello at the Rockley Pub on Saturday, August 29, and a delightful afternoon it was. The food was as good as usual for the pub (even if a bit more expensive than most pub menus), the beer was cold and the sunshine outside wouldn't have been out of place at a Mediterranean resort, so adding some fine music made it the place to be.
And let's talk about the music. Limoncello specialise in interpreting a wide range of popular music, and when you hear songs from Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan, the Beatles, the Dave Clark Five, Amy Winehouse, the Kinks (who were appropriately lazing on a sunny afternoon), the Youngbloods and Paul Kelly to name just a few you can see that the "wide range" is an appropriate description. (Someone not far from the Oberon Matters table was heard to remark "You're playing my record collection".) Taking on a wide range of material like this could be considered brave, but it works and shows the versatility of the duo. You can find out where Limoncello are playing at their Facebook page and getting along to see and hear them is strongly recommended. They tend to work around Bathurst so it's not a long trip to be thoroughly entertained. And here's a sample of the show, reminding me of all the dumb things I've done (like putting the microphone where the acoustics weren't optimal).
