NAIDOC Day at the Common

October 29, 2026

Sunday, October 18, saw the people of Oberon gathered at the Oberon Common to celebrate NAIDOC Day. After a Welcome to Country from a local Elder, there was a smoking ceremony and some traditional (and new) dances, dis[plays of art and artifacts and an opportunity for everyone to join in and celebrate the history and continued presence of the original inhabitants of the land we all call home.

Oberon Matters wandered around pointing the camera at things to get a feel for the day.
