Burraga Sheep Show and Country Fair

September 3, 2026

The population of Burraga seems to be only about 66 people so it was appropriate that this year's Annual Sheep Show should be the 66th edition. An addition to the attractions this year was a Ute Show which attracted a range of comprehensively modified and decorated motor vehicles. While this attracted a relatively small field this year, it can only get bigger in future. One strange aspect of ute shows to an outsider is that the number of prize categories can often exceed the actual number of entries, but this just means that entrants have to be a bit creative to see how many flags they can display on how many aerials and adds to the overall fun.

A traditional part of the show is the photography competition, and Oberon Matters would like to congratulate Pip Saltmiras for winning. Modesty prevents me from mentioning who took second place. Maybe next year.

Oberon Matters wandered around pointing the camera at things. As the weather was perfect and the crowd was large, the day had to be ruled a success. On to next year, when more innovations ate promised.

Lots of pictures.
