A Joyful Farewell to St Dymphna's, Burraga

On Saturday 18th July, St Dymphna's Church, Burraga, was filled to overflowing as people gather - a wonderful testament to the place this little church has held in the hearts of so many.

Many travelled back to Burraga to be part of this historic day. For some, St Dymphna's is where parents, grandparents and generations before them worshipped. Others returned to the church where they were baptised, received the sacraments, were married, or simply found a community of faith.

While there is sadness in closing the doors of a church that has served the community so faithfully, today's readings reminded us of the hope we have in Christ. The Church is more than a building - it is the people of God, united in faith, carrying the Gospel into the world wherever they go.

Our thanks go to all those who, over so many years, have cared for St Dymphna's and helped make it a place where countless people encountered Jesus Christ. Your faith, generosity and witness have left a lasting legacy.

As one chapter closes, we entrust the future to God with hope, confident that the faith nurtured at St Dymphna's will continue to bear fruit in the lives of those who have called this church their spiritual home.
