Community Event: Suicide Prevention, Depression and Anxiety

July 23, 2026

The announcement below from the Oberon Men's Shed is important, because it addresses an important issue.

Reserve the date 26th November 2026.

The end of life by suicide is not the end of the story.

For those left behind, it marks the beginning of a complex journey through grief, confusion and unanswered questions.

Oberon Men's Shed is presenting a Suicide Prevention, Depression and Anxiety Event soon. This event will attempt to provide some advice on recognising those subtle signs and what to do next.

Oberon Men's Shed is organising the event that will be presented by the Australian Men's Sheds Association in conjunction with a specialist group, "Talk to Me Bro".

Also there will be a couple of speakers who work in this field in the Oberon area.

Craig Gibbons is a confirmed speaker.

We would be pleased to hear from any local associations and sporting groups who would like to get behind this initiative and give us their support. Send a message via the Oberon Men's Shed Facebook page for further details.

So, what have we put together so far?

  • Date: 26th November 2026.
    • Venue: Oberon Community Centre Function Room.
    • Time: 9.30 am assembly for a 10.00 am start.
    • Allow about 3 to 4 hours  for the event. Light refreshments will be available.
