ANZAC Day in Oberon

April 30, 2026

Oberon turned on perfect autumn weather for the 2026 ANZAC Day event. Unlike previous years, the after-march function was held at the War Memorial rather than the RSL Club. This improved the experience for everyone by explicitly connecting the march with the rest of the day's events. The crowds along the route of the march and around the memorial were the largest seen for many years and showed that the people here take the words "Lest we forget" very seriously.

One feature of ANZAC Day in Oberon is the participation by the Turkish community. The lives of the Turkish soldiers who died at Gallipoli were just as wasted as those of the forces on the other side and the sacrifices on both sides should never be forgotten.

Rather than fill the page with photos, here is a slideshow of 90 photos taken on the day.
