Diversity Day

Well, the weather wasn't great and the event had to compete with the Rodeo across the road for customers but Oberon's first Diversity Day was a success, highlighting the differences across the town that bring us all together and unite us. Oberon is a remarkably tolerant town containing people from a wide range of cultural, ethnic, language, age, health, employment and spiritual backgrounds who all get along and go about their lives without any trouble or disputes. Not every town is as lucky as we are.

Oberon Mayor Andrw McKibbin had this to say:

Diversity Day in the Oberon Common on Saturday 28th February, will celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures in our community. Cultural Diversity Day is an opportunity to share, learn and celebrate the many traditions, stories, heritage and ﬂavours that make Oberon so vibrant.

Oberon Matters could only attend for a short time in the afternoon after most of the crowd had left, but still managed a few photos.
