It's the market's birthday

October 2, 2025

Sunday, September 28, saw the Tarana Farmers' Market turned into a birthday party, and it was the market's birthday. Ten years of bringing local producers into contact with local (and tourist) buyers at one of the most successful markets around the area.

Member for Calare Andrew Gee joined the members of the Market Committee to cut the birthday cake.

The biggest crowd seen at the markets for some time took advantage of perfect spring weather to come to the party.

A highlight of the day was the Dog's Fancy Dress competition. It was won by a dog, but as all the entries were excellent and nobody should be disappointed Oberon Matters will keep the results secret. (This has nothing to do with missing the announcement and not being able to find anyone who knew afterwards.)

The markets are on at then Tarana fire shed on the fourth Sunday of every month and are always worth a visit.

Dogs. Most behaving appropriately.

For the rest of the morning, Oberon Matters just walked around pointing the camera at things.
