Edith car boot sale May 22, 2025 The people of Edith picked the coldest day so far this year for their annual car boot sale, but the weather didn't stop people turning up. There was the usual variety of things on sale, some strange, some familiar from other sales, but that's the nature of this kind of event - it's a community garage sale. Food was available and there was the obligatory raffle, all to raise money for the upkeep and improvements to the Edith Recreation Ground.
It would be excellent to have the tennis courts restored but the slope across the cricket field could be an expensive change, although it does provide an extra challenge when totally different batting styles are required depending on which end of the pitch the batsperson happens to be. Oberon Matters put on an extra layer of clothing and walked around pointing the camera at things. And yes, it felt like it was about to snow when everyone was packing up.
